Why do you self manage and do you think that makes your units less desireable to decent tenants?

Do you really trust what someone says?
I use a credit report to see any judgements for evictions they may leave off the application……not just for fico scores. I’ve had tenants put a friends name on the landlord line. I asked the named landlord who owned the property and she said her husband. His name was not the name on public record. I called info to get owners number….and she confirmed they were just evicted.
Tenants don’t always tell the truth.
I always check credit, criminal, court, rental and work histories.
I self manage.
Seeing as my longest vacancy was less than 2 weeks and my tenants stay on average 5 years, I would say no, my units are not less desirable to decent tenants.
